Julian Huxley: On the road to recovery
Australia's World Cup and Brumbies utility back Julian Huxley is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery to remove a tumour from his brain.
Huxley, 28, was shocked when doctors broke the news to him following routine MRI scans carried out after he was concussed as he attempted a head-on tackle on Reds forward James Horwill during a Super 14 match in Canberra last month.
The operation took place at North Shore Private Hospital last Thursday.
"The initial feedback is that the surgery went well," Brumbies CEO Andrew Fagan said.
"There are some test results he is still waiting for, but he is recovering well."
Fagan praised the way Huxley has handled the traumatic situation.
