Cheika's Vote: Kidney 'will do a good job' for Irish
Leinster boss Michael Cheika has backed Munster counterpart Declan Kidney as the perfect choice to succeed Eddie O'Sullivan as Ireland coach.
The Australian believes Kidney's successful career record with the rival province and his Irish roots make him the ideal candidate for the vacant role.
"I think that he (Kidney) should get it," Cheika told reporters on Tuesday.
"He's Irish, he has gotten his team to the pinnacle of the game in Europe and they have been consistent performers in the Magners League.
"He's breeding Irish players and I've got a good rapport with Declan. If/when he does get it I'm sure that he will do a good job."
