Ireland seek a temporary solution

Ireland seek a temporary solution

Michael Bradley: Could be given interim Ireland post

While Declan Kidney is almost certain to be named Ireland coach at some point in the near future, the IRFU have been seeking a solution to a more short-term problem as well: finding an interim management.

Kidney will take Munster to their possible second Heineken Cup title on May 24, three days before Ireland face the Barbarians in Gloucester and then head to New Zealand and Australia for the June Tests.

The Irish Independent says that Connacht coach Michael Bradley is likely to be named interim coach, with Joey Miles as interim Team Manager, although this claim was denied by the IRFU, who merely said the announcements would be made later in the week.

In terms of the permanent management team, Leinster's Paul McNaughton is set to be appointed manager alongside Kidney with former South African forwards coach Gert Smal also in the shake-up for a role in the coaching team.
