End of the road: De Villiers is calling time on his playing days
French international prop Pieter De Villiers has announced his retirement from all rugby.
South African-born De Villiers, who won 69 caps for France, has said the time is for him to step down from the sport.
"I'm officially stopping playing rugby," the 35-year-old said on the Stade Français website.
"It's something that I have thought hard about, and for me it's the right decision."
As well as a long career with France, De Villiers played for Stade Français for thirteen years, winning five Top 14 championships.
