White to miss Scotland's tour

Ruled out: White will not tour Argentina in the summer

Scotland will be without captain Jason White when they travel to Argentina on their summer tour.

The Sale Sharks number six has been ruled out with a knee injury that requires surgery to rectify the problem.

It is expected that scrum-half Mike Blair will continue with the captain's armband in White's absence, having taken over during this season's Six Nations when White was injured.

White missed the entire 2007 Six Nations with a serious knee injury and now he needs keyhole surgery to clean his knee out.

The Scots play will play two Tests against the Pumas, on 7 June in Rosario and a week later in Buenos Aires.

White has been able to play for his club Sale in recent weeks, although he was injured for Friday's European Challenge Cup semi-final win over Bath.

The 29-year-old's Six Nations campaign was also hampered after he sustained concussion.
