O'Driscoll joins Ireland tour

O'Driscoll: On the road again

Brian O'Driscoll will captain Ireland on their tour of Australia and New Zealand after he confirmed his availability to the country's management team.

The 29-year-old outside centre withdrew from the Ireland side which claimed a 39-14 victory over Barbarians after the death of a close friend.

But an Ireland Rugby Football Union (IRFU) statement confirmed that he will fly to the southern hemisphere in this weekend and will join up with the rest of the squad before the first Test against New Zealand on June 7 in Wellington.
