Tuitavake: Friday is D-day for the All Blacks star
New Zealand winger Anthony Tuitavake has less than a week to decide whether he wants to remain an All Black or join the mass exodus of players heading overseas.
The New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) have given players until Friday to let them know if they're available to play in the Super 14 next year.
Friday's deadline means all players coming off contract at the end of the year, including Tuitavake, must decide whether they're staying in New Zealand or going overseas.
There has been speculation in rugby circles over the last couple of weeks that Tuitavake has been eyeing up overseas offers and admitted that he's got a big decision to make.
"There's the possibility (of going overseas) but I love the New Zealand rugby culture and I love the All Blacks," 26-year-old Tuitavake told Sunday News.
"I hope everything goes well so I can stay here and enjoy this."
It's possible Tuitavake may sound out the All Blacks selectors this week to get a feel for whether he's in contention for the end of year tour and he says that trip may have some bearing on his decision.
"That does help," he said.
"But at the end of the day, I think the family is going to make the call and whatever call my Dad makes I'll go along with.
"I've got a week and now I've got no more rugby I can go away and think about things."
