Perpignan lose Tuilagi for Heineken Cup

Broken arm: Henry Tuilagi

Bad news for French club Perpignan ahead of the opening round of the Heineken Cup as their Samoan international Henry Tuilagi is set to be sidelined for two months with a broken arm.

The barnstorming number eight sustained the injury in the Catalans' 37-12 victory over Toulon in the Top 14 last Saturday and will now miss at least the first four rounds of the European competition including Perpignan's clash with Treviso on Friday.

The lay-off also means that the 32-year-old forward will play no part in the Pacific Islanders European tour in November.

Tuilagi's arm has been put in a cast and he is set to undergo surgery on Monday to stabilise the fracture.
