Two more depart the Ospreys

Two more heads have rolled at the Ospreys as a part of Andrew Hore's review of the franchise, in the wake of Lyn Jones' departure by 'mutual consent' on Friday.

Kevin Hopkins' role as Director of Rugby has been discontinued - he has been offered another position within the set-up - and fitness coach Huw Bevan has been shuffled off after five years in his position.

Hore was brought in from New Zealand earlier this season to conduct a warts 'n' all review of the structures in the franchise, and is now releasing and executing the results of his labour.

"Good sports teams are the ones who make hard decisions and develop from within," said Hore in a statement on the club's website.

"But you have to prepare people before you tell them what they maybe don't want to hear, and you have to help them to get where they want to go to."

The search for Jones' successor has already started, but it will be a long process, and Hore warned that it would be a detailed look for the right person rather than just drafting in a tried and trusted name in the business.

"We need to do our homework, the world is an interesting place and it's not necessarily going to be straightforward," he said.

"The coach who meets our criteria is out there, ultimately this may mean an individual who is not widely known by the average supporter.

"There are numerous examples around the world of quality coaches operating away from the limelight, there's the Currie Cup, Welsh Premiership, Air NZ Cup, Mazda Trophy, there's a very good second division in England.

"The individual may even already be within the organisation as part of our existing coaching team, we can't rule anything out.

"Some of these people are just waiting for their opportunity and they could be great coaches, you've just got to find them.

"The person that we're looking for has got to be someone who can grow others, he's got to have strong values and attitudes and they really have to buy into the whole culture we're trying to establish."
