Flying high: Varndell wants to add to his 12 tries this season
Leicester wing Tom Varndell is hoping that he will receive plenty of possession in Saturday's EDF Energy Cup final at Twickenham.
The three-times capped England player, who has experienced a mixed season, is relishing the chance to take on the Ospreys again this weekend.
Despite being the Tigers' leading try scorer this season, with twelve touchdowns to date, Varndell has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of scoring chances.
"I wish I was getting more ball," Varndell told BBC Radio Leicester.
"It's not for want of trying, just the way the games have gone."
Not only that but Varndell still harbours serious England ambitions, and believes a big performance on Saturday will do his chances no harm at all. However he will not let his own agenda get in the way of that of the team.
"Playing for England again, I'd love to do that," he added.
"But my aim is to get a victory for the Tigers this weekend and take it from there."
Varndell last played for England in 2006, where he scored against Australia, and with a shake-up in the England set-up imminent there is every chance he will get another shot at the Test arena.
