Scarlets line up Baa-Baas clash

Welsh calling: The Barbarians will play the first game at Parc y Scarlets

The Scarlets will mark the official opening of their new stadium with a game against the Barbarians.

The fixture, on January 31, will be part of a showcase event to open the 15,000-capacity Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli.

"We are hoping for a mix of some of the world's top rugby players, from both northern and southern hemispheres, in what should be a great game of rugby and a memorable occasion," Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher said.

"We believe this will be a fitting way to celebrate our new home, and to bring something extra special to our supporters and members this season to thank them for their continued commitment to our rugby region."

The Baa-baas have announced their squad for the game will be coached by former Wales captain Kingsley Jones, who works alongside Philippe Saint-Andre at Guinness Premiership club Sale Sharks.
