Nalaga banned for 22 days

Fate known: Nalaga out of action for 22 days

Fiji wing Napolioni Nalaga of the Pacific Islands team has been suspended for 22 days by the International Rugby Board following his dismissal against France.

The Clermont player will therefore miss the Pacific Islands match against Italy on Saturday and then two matches for his club - at Mont-de-Marsan in the French Top 14 on November 29 and against Munster in the Heineken Cup on December 7.

Nalaga received a red card from referee Nigel Owens after a head-high tackle forced Jean-Baptiste Elissalde to be stretchered from the field eighteen minutes into France's 42-17 victory.

The IRB commission judged the red card as justified though thought the tackle was dangerous rather premeditated, the Six Nations committee said in a statement.

The suspension ends at midnight on Sunday, December 7 with the player able to play again on December 8.
